AN ETHICAL BUSINESS APPROACH

An ethical approach is adopted in all key aspects of the Ethical Products Direct business, including :

Pricing
Ethical Products Direct pricing is based, wherever possible, on published Manufacturer's Trade List Prices. The Prices shown on our product pages are the price for a single unit and include VAT, these prices are always less than or equal to the Manufacturers RRP (Recommended Retail Price). If 2 to 5 units of a particular product are purchased at the same time, the price will be 5% below RRP, if 6 or more units are purchased the price will be 10% below RRP. This calculation is performed automatically via the software in
the Ordering section. Visitors to the site from overseas can also have the VAT automatically subtracted from the price of the goods ordered, via the software.

Ordering and Payment
Products can be ordered from the Ordering section of the website using a credit or debit card directly via an SSL secure server, this means that all the information entered in the Ordering section (eg. credit card numbers) is encrypted. This ensures that all credit and debit card transactions are secure and protected from fraud. The use of a credit or debit card would also provide the customer with the card company or bank's own protection against fraud. Payment is also accepted by cheque or bankers draft, though a cheque guarantee card number is required and goods can not be shipped until payment has cleared.

Delivery
Delivery can be made direct to your home or workplace and is made by First Class Mail. The price is calculated on the basis of the size and weight of the goods ordered. First Class Mail delivery is used, as this utilises an existing delivery network, thus minimising the environmental impact of additional delivery journeys.

Suppliers and Product Quality
Ethical Products Direct only source and purchase products from bona fide, well established suppliers with a good reputation for quality, safety and value. Most suppliers are among the market leaders in their chosen field. Manufacturing and assembly facilities must comply with ISO 9000 / 9001 / 9002, where appropriate. Products are not sourced from manufacturers who exploit Third World "sweat shop" labour. All products sold by Ethical Products Direct are required to comply with, or exceed, the requirements of the relevant British Standard or I.E.C. Standard, and carry the CE mark (where appropriate).

Faulty or Damaged Goods
Whilst every effort is made to ensure good product quality during manufacture and assembly, and to protect goods in transit, occasionally products may be damaged or faulty. In such cases damage should be reported to Ethical Products Direct within seven days of receipt of goods. A returns number will be issued and, provided that the product is returned within a further seven days, and that the product has not been tampered with or abused, a replacement will be issued and delivered to the customer at no extra charge. Ethical Products Direct will also cover the postage costs related to the return of the product.

Packaging and Promotional Information
Ethical Products Direct undertake to use re-cycled materials and packaging wherever possible in order to protect the environment. Where appropriate, the use of full-colour, promotional packaging is avoided, instead products will usually be delivered in plain packaging. Whilst protecting the product in transit, this can be easily re-cycled and is more environmentally responsible.
